B&B Between the Quantock Hills and Jurassic Coastline

Location

Pardlestone Farm B&B sits on the edge of the Quantock Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The property overlooks both the Quantock Hills and the Jurassic coastline, with Kilve beach and its fossil hunting grounds less than a mile away. Guests step directly from the farm onto the Coleridge Way and a network of walking, cycling, and bridle paths.

Accommodations

The Georgian farmhouse offers en-suite rooms including the Alfoxton bedroom, each with premium Hypnos mattresses and Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. Two self-catering cottages, the Pony Barn and Pony Cottage, provide additional space with fully equipped kitchens and private outdoor areas. Interconnected rooms and cottages allow large family groups to stay together under one roof.

Dining

Breakfast is cooked to order by Mark, with locally sourced full English options, free-range eggs, homemade jams pressed from the farm's own fruit, and freshly brewed coffee. Guests eat in the dining room beside a log burner, or outside in the garden during warmer months. The Hood Arms, a pub serving locally sourced food, is a ten-minute walk down the lane.

Amenities

The farm provides stabling for guests' horses, with spacious clean stalls, turnout, and washing-off facilities. Riding routes across the Quantocks start directly from the property, with detailed maps and route planning available from host Ann. The self-catering cottages accept dogs upon request, and the surrounding area offers dog-friendly walks and beaches.

Points of Interest

Within a short drive are Coleridge Cottage in Nether Stowey, Dunster Castle and village, and the West Somerset Railway heritage line. The award-winning Hestercombe Gardens are 20 minutes away, and the historic towns of Watchet and Porlock offer the park and coastal dining. The farm is 30 minutes from the M5 motorway, making day trips to Exmoor and the Somerset coast straightforward.

“Ann and Mark at this farmstead have cultivated a deeply peaceful haven, where comfort and genuine hospitality converge. The attention to detail, from impeccably clean rooms to expertly prepared breakfasts using local produce, speaks volumes about their commitment. It's a place that draws you in, offering a true sense of belonging amid the rolling countryside.”
